A Few Words From Us...

"Hello, my name is Heather Ouellette I am a married mother with 4 children. All aged between 9 and 20. I started working at the Center when it was known as North Conway Daycare Center. I was an assistant  and worked my way up to preschool teachers. I am a Math class way from my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I took over as Director 3 years ago and have been apart of the great changes to becoming Vaughan Learning Center. In my spare time when I'm not working I have a love for the outdoors. I spend much of my time in my gardens during the summer and on snowshoes in the winter. I love children and all of the wonder they are still full of. "

"My name is Linda Mallett and I am the Lead Teacher in the Big Tots classroom.  I have 23 plus years of experience in childcare.  Some of my hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, jigsaw puzzles, playing card games and spending time with family and friends.  I really love working at VLC because it is a close knit community and seeing the children learn is really amazing."

"Hello! My name is Brittanie Jones. I work as an assistant teacher in the infant room at Vaughan Learning Center. I am going on my second year of working in childcare and have loved every second of it. Outside of work I enjoy river trips, baking and making lots of memories with my own kiddos. My favorite aspect of the center is we all love a fun and nurturing environment. Being able to play with the kids and act goofy with them is one of the greatest benefits working in childcare and you’ll find a lot of that at our center! I can’t wait to meet you and your littles!"

"Hello! My name is Kalia, and I am the lead teacher in the infant room. I have been working in childcare for four years, and have received my associates in education. I am a mom of two, I have a four year old daughter and a two year old son. In our spare time, we enjoy playing outside, exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family. I cannot wait to get back into the classroom and meet all of the new personalities that inhabit the infant room now! As a whole, Vaughan is a very close-knit community, and I enjoy that everyone who is apart of the services is helpful, generous, selfless, and always looking for ways to go that extra mile."

"My name is Gianna Jones, and I am going to be taking the reins of the assistant director at Vaughan Learning Center. While I am a bit nervous about this new label, I am also eager about the opportunities and responsibilities that are now under my description. I have worked in childcare for about four years now, and I look forward to spending the rest of my working years doing the same thing. There is no better feeling that the squeeze of a child's hug, the warm greeting and smile in the morning, and the lingering "goodbye" as they await their arrival the next morning. Is childcare the easiest job? Absolutely not, but I do believe that the benefits reaped are among the most rewarding. I vow to always advocate for the best interest of the children in all scenarios, and I plan to cultivate a very comfortable environment for parents, teachers, and children to communicate so as to remain on the same (working) page. When I am not working, I am spending time with my goofy fiancé, Alec, and our beautiful 6-month-old daughter, Sawyer. I look forward to seeing all of your faces in just a few short weeks! Stay healthy."

"Hello, my name is Samantha and I'm an assistant teacher in the Little Tot classroom at Vaughan. I'm currently enrolled and taking Early Childhood Education classes and working my way to another degree. I have a background in the medical field and love working with children. I have two children of my own and look forward to meeting you!"

"Hello all! My name is Mrs Jess.  I’m an associate teacher for the Little Tot room at the learning center.  I have been part of the Vaughan Learning Center family for 4 years, but I’ve been working in childcare for almost 10 years now! Since joining the VLC family, I have enjoyed caring for and watching each of my students learn, grow, and blossom - creating special bonds with each child and their families.  When I’m not at the center, I enjoy being outside with my husband, Bradley, our 2.5 year old, Malcolm, and our dog Max; we are also very excited to be welcoming a sweet baby boy to our family this fall!  Some things we enjoy doing as a family include, swimming and hiking in the warmer weather, and ice skating, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing in the winter.  I love teaching children by finding new and creative ways to make learning playful and fun! I  am looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for us!"

"Hi, my name is Skyla Thurston. I am 19 years old and started babysitting when I was about 14. I started working at the Vaughan Center 2 years ago. I am currently attending Granite State College to get my Associates in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. I have worked in the baby room mostly but this year I will be working in the preschool classes."

"My name is Katherine Holtby, and I am an assistant teacher at Vaughan. I have been at the center for almost a year but I have taken care of my nephews since they were babies.

I love to to read, go to the beach, I love watching the New York Yankees and Boston Bruins. I have 9 nephews all together so there is always something going on with one of them to help keep me busy.

I love that no day at Vaughan is ever the same, the kids always have different questions, new games to play, and no matter what they always make me smile."

"My name is Kayla Blodgett, and I am the school age teacher. I have been involved with young children off and on for the last 14 years starting when I was involved with Little Eagles. When I am not at VLC I work at the middle school in Conway. The school age program at VLC let’s kids have a fun, safe summer exploring North Conway and taking a few field trips to other spots in NH. When not working, I spend time reading, going to the ocean, and taking my daughter to her many activities."

"Anne Moothart, Certified Lead Preschool Teacher, experienced in providing multiple learning opportunities while being attentive to the children's physical, emotional, and social needs in a safe, welcoming, fun atmosphere."

" Hello, my name is Molly and I’m so excited for this school year! I have worked with children since I was a child myself. I actually volunteered right here at VLC everyday after aging out of the program and until I could become staff. I have 9 early childhood college credits and look forward to getting more as time goes on. Feel free to come say Hi in preschool!"
